Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
The best replacement for store bought ranch dressing EVER.
Ingredients
1/3 cup whole, organic or locally sourced buttermilk
1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tablespoon of fresh chives (1/2 tablespoon of dried)
½ teaspoon of fresh dill (1/4 teaspoon of dried)
½ teaspoon of onion powder
½ teaspoon of garlic powder
1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime (juice)
sea salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Shake everything together in an 12-16oz mason jar.
Will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator, longer without fresh herbs.
Try subbing buttermilk with 1/2 an avocado pureed with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened Greek yogurt and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.
Penzeys Spices makes a great Buttermilk seasoning that can be used as an alternative to the dry ingredients. A touch of hot sauce or dash of paprika will give it a kick.
