Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

 

The best replacement for store bought ranch dressing EVER.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup whole, organic or locally sourced buttermilk

  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon of fresh chives (1/2 tablespoon of dried)

  • ½ teaspoon of fresh dill (1/4 teaspoon of dried)

  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder

  • ½ teaspoon of garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon or lime (juice)

  • sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Shake everything together in an 12-16oz mason jar.

  2. Will keep for 1 week in the refrigerator, longer without fresh herbs.

  3. Try subbing buttermilk with 1/2 an avocado pureed with 2 tablespoons of unsweetened Greek yogurt and 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.

  4. Penzeys Spices makes a great Buttermilk seasoning that can be used as an alternative to the dry ingredients. A touch of hot sauce or dash of paprika will give it a kick.
