Marin’s Homemade Baby Formula
Another challenge for some of us with PCOS is the inability to lactate enough in the fourth trimester. I was only able to supply about half of what my girl needed every day. Plus she was unable to tolerate cow proteins. Her constant indigestion and suffering from even taking commercial goat-milk formula led me to start making my own. I purposely rotated and adapted the formula to adjust to her changing digestive system and to give her some nutrient diversity until she started eating solid foods.
While the supplements in these recipes are optional, I strongly suggest adding a version of colostrum (IgG or SBI), one of the primary immunoglobulin’s in breast milk, and S. boulardii (a probiotic known for increasing total IgA). IgA is another primary immunoglobulin in breast milk. Rotating infant probiotics with S. boulardii is best practice for optimizing immune health.

Rotate coconut milk goat’s milk recipe to vary baby’s nutrient profile. Baby gets approximately 1 quart of each a day.
If using coconut milk from a carton instead of can liquid ratio is 3 cups coconut milk, 1 cup coconut water. No regular water needed.
Canned coconut milk comes with a lot of fat/cream that will not full emulsify even after blended. Open the can and skim off as much cream as possible before using. Fat will float to the top after it has rested in the fridge. This will need to be skimmed before pouring into a bottle.
Clean and sanitize blender parts, 1 cup measure, and measuring spoons immediately after each use. Keep all dry ingredients tightly sealed. Return all ingredients to the fridge that need to be chilled (maple syrup, Flora EFA, Probiotics).
Marin’s Toddler Milk Version 1 (as of 13 months)
Yield: 2.5 liters (enough for approximately 24 hours
3 cups filtered water
1 cup coconut water
1 quart unsweetened coconut milk or almond milk (I purposefully rotate)
2 tablespoons mushroom protein powder
1 teaspoon molasses
1 teaspoon Omega 3 oil (either fish oil or plant based, I rotate)
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil (only during flu season)
1 teaspoon hemp seed oil, optional (rotated with other oils)
1/2 tablespoon elderberry juice (only on daycare days)
1 dropper full of CBD oil
1/2 -1 teaspoon vitamin C powder (only full teaspoon needed if she is sick)
1/4 teaspoon probiotic powder
2 caps of Kids Multi Vitamin
1 cap of the Desiccated Liver
Fill the Vitamix pitcher with 3 cups of filter water. Add the coconut water and approximately 1 cup (only) of the milk. You will add the rest of the milk later. ! cup of milk in the beginning helps the oils emulsify better but adding it all at the beginning fills the pitcher to high and while streaming in oils can make a mess.
Melt coconut oil over the stove.
Turn Vitamix on 4-5 power setting to get a strong vortex going and stream in all the oils, including the CBD oil.
Turn the Vitamix down to 2-3 setting and while it’s running add in the rest of the ingredients. Stream in the remaining coconut/almond milk. Pour milk into the a clean 2.5 liter milk jug.
